Students in all of my classes are working hard on this round of projects. Sculpture and Survey students are studying proportion. Sculpture students are working to construct a miniature of an animal with accurate proportions by working from drawn and photographic references. Survey is doing something similar, only they are not producing a sculpture but rather are painting an enlarged portrait of their animal. My drawing and painting students are working on perspective. They have been hard at work studying spaces in and around the school in order to see how objects overlap in space to create depth. This past week they learned the difference between "atmospheric perspective" and "linear perspective" In all cases, feel free to ask your child about their work and what they are learning. :)
