While you visit the art room, take a moment to also check out some of our online links. First off, I am working to make literacy a part of the art making process. To do so, I have created a Donor’s Choose project to obtain a class set of Scholastic Art Magazine. This publication is a great resource for my classes to read about master artists and how art is made around the world affecting life and culture. This initiative will help my students expand their knowledge about art and their language skills in general which can be applied to many other areas of study. The Art and Literacy Project can be found at: https://www.donorschoose.org/project/art-and-literacy/2057437/
Lastly, this year students at East Cary Middle will submit their work using a digital portfolio website called www.SeeSaw.me. The process is completely private and only accessible in the art classroom via your student’s class QR Code. Tonight, if you attend, I will talk about that process and give you an opportunity to scan your student’s code. By doing so, you are able to see the work your student’s portfolio develop and their skills increase. Take a moment to peruse the SeeSaw Parent FAQs if you have any questions. If you are interested in being invited to view your student's work, please provide your contact information with using this form and I will send you an invite to join:
